We also departed from the Besant Campground near Caronport, SK and headed west on the Trans-Canada Highway 1/TC-1.

Saamis Teepee in Medicine Hat, AB, the world's largest teepee
at 225' high (a Roadside America attraction)
Saamis Teepee was created for the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary, and moved to Medicine Hat in 1991. The circular storyboards were apparently painted beginning in 1994.

Brooks Aqueduct (1912-1914) in Brooks, AB, an engineering marvel,
a concrete aqueduct that was in use until 1979
bringing water to farmers and ranchers in the prairie;
also a Roadside America attraction (KSS)
It was replaced by a more efficient earthen aqueduct/canal

Approaching Calgary, AB
We have been to Calgary, starting on June 19, 2015.
Kent's parents were in Calgary in 1979, and stayed at the Palliser Hotel, ate at Masche's Deli (no longer exists), and left on the Royal Glacier Coach Line (still exists) for Lake Louise.

Outlaw, the Bull (2008, by Richard Loffler), Canada's
most famous bull who performed at the Calgary Stampede;
"he" now performs in front of the Stock Exchange

Calgary Tower (1967-1968), at 626' tall,
it was the tallest such structure in North America
and remains the tallest building in Calgary
Tamiko at the Calgary Tower with a couple Canadian mascots in
Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) uniforms (KSS)

Because we could not determine where the Explorer Scouts camped in Calgary, we made reservations at the Lac des Arcs Campground near Exshaw, AB.
