Happy Flag Day!
We drove past the former P family house on Wooster Pike to begin our trip today. Not being sure of the route the Explorer Scouts took, we headed to I-275 W, followed by I-74 N into Indiana, I-465 N and I-865 to I-65 N.
We stopped for lunch in Wolcott, IN, thinking we were stopping at a Dairy Queen. Inside it was Martha's Kitchen, with an extensive menu. We ordered broaster chicken, but that would take 30 minutes. We settled for faster food.
We continued on I-65 to I-80/I-94 W into Illinois. Finally on I-294 N and I-290 N. Because we could not find any public camping venue in Wood Dale, we stayed with friends in Barrington, IL, also west of Chicago.
Shortly after we arrived, the skies opened up, pouring rain and hail, with thunder and lightning. They said they needed rain as well. Another comfortable B&B, but no swimming in the pool or eating on the patio this evening!
Stu and Cheryl T entertained us with stories, brought us up-to-date on their children, and made us a fantastic Japanese meal for dinner.
Many thanks to Stu and Cher for their hospitality!
