1964, the Plan: Chicago, IL to Duluth, MN
1964, the Actuality: On Saturday, July 18, the Explorer Scouts traveled from Wood Dale, IL to St Paul, MN. Kent reported via postcard that he was having a great time, the bus was holding up real well, and they went swimming in the Mississippi River.

We left from Barrington, IL and took I-90 and I-94 west to St Paul, MN.

Looking for a place where one could go swimming in the Mississippi River, we ended up in
Hidden Falls Regional Park in St Paul.

We will be making a few stops on the
Best Breweries in the US in One Road Trip. In Minneapolis there is the
Surly Brewing Company.

Because we did not know where the Explorer Scouts spent the night in St Paul, We stayed in a Days Inn farther along I-94 in Monticello, MN.
